WORLD CUP 2022 :- Morocco vs Canada Preview, Line Up, Match Info

  MOROCCO VS CANADA

Morocco will face Canada today in the final round of Group F of the World Cup. The match will be played at Al Thumama Stadium at 8:30 pm IST.

For Canada the Qatar World Cup is just a disappointment. They lost to Belgium in their first match and suffered a miserable defeat to Croatia in their second match and are at the bottom of the table with 0 points.

The Canadians will only be aiming for a consolation win today. On the other hand, Morocco is second in the table with 4 points from 2 matches. Therefore, if we can win today, we can become group champions. Even if the result is a draw, the knockout is guaranteed. Meanwhile, losing the match leaves them with little chance. Croatia just needs to beat Belgium. However, they may not be willing to take such a risk. Success is the goal.

They also have the confidence of beating strong Belgium in the last match. Anyway, expect a good match.

INSIGHTS

1) Morocco is unbeaten in previous meetings with Canada in all competitions (W2 D1), most recently a 4-0 friendly win in October 2016.

2) This will be Morocco's fifth FIFA World Cup match against a non-European nation, with the Atlas Lions losing each of their previous four games (against Peru, Saudi Arabia, Brazil and Iran).

3) Canada has been eliminated from the 2022 World Cup after losing its first two matches.  They have now lost all five of their World Cup matches, with only El Salvador (6) playing more games while losing on each occasion.

4) Morocco picked up just their third win in their 18th match (D6 L9) last time out at the World Cup against Belgium.  All three of their wins have come against European nations (beating Portugal in 1986 and Scotland in 1998).

5) It was Canada's first match against an African nation since a 4-0 loss to Morocco in October 2016, with a brace from Hakim Ziyech.  Canada's only previous match against a team from Africa was a 2-0 loss to Cameroon in the 2001 Confederations Cup.
